Hi Stan,

Yes, it's mine. With over 500 pages out of 800 plus pages, (or eight chapters) exclusively on the Civil War, the vast majority of the book is dominated by it. There are over 1,500 endnotes and the bibliography is 26 pages. Most of it consists of first hand or eyewitness accounts so there are things in there that you won't readily find elsewhere. One chapter covers the technological changes from the earlier wars to the Civil War. There is a 100 page chapter that covers the Civil War sharpshooter. This is perhaps the most important one in the book as it covers recruitment (or selection - which didn't always ensure you got the best or brightest), units or organizations, training, battlefield roles and counter-measures. Three chapters (c8-c10) covers the Army of the Potomac v. Army of Northern Virginia. Another covers coastal operations (c11), the midwest (12) and finally the Mississippi region (c13).

It doesn't include my recent article on Pemberton's Sharp Shooters that was issued in the Fall 2010 issue of The Military Collector and Historian.

If you're near Fairfax, VA, you can pick it up from the NRA Museum store. If you're near Lodi, Ohio, it's available at the Log Cabin Shop. Finally, if you're in Fishers, Indiana, Conner Prairie Museum has it in their gift shop.
