Re: Grave of Col.Joseph C. Porter
In Response To: Grave of Col.Joseph C. Porter ()

I spoke with a friend from Batesville named John Baxter, who now lives in Nashville on this subject and he actually assisted Professor John Lankford of Lyon College in finding the grave of Joseph Porter. John said that it was near Oil Trough on a farm and that there were a few old Confederate graves together on the property. The owner of the farm was aware of them. Lankford was a history professor at Lyon College as well as a member of the local historical society and should have documented these findings in one of its news letters or a book. Regards.
