Company D, was formed in White County, Arkansas, With Captain John A Pemberton Commanding. I do not know the specific location as where it actually was recruited in the County. Most of the other Regiment were from Conway, Perry, Van Buren. Counties. regiment has an extensive combat record in the Army of the Tennessee. The Centennial History of Arkansas if you can find a copy. is a good resource in its history of the war in Arkansas. If it was available, the history usually included where the companies and regiments were formed. I will try and find my copy of the book and see what I can find. I have not checked to see if anyone has put it on line, I would recommend contacting the Central Arkansas Library system and see what they may have on the 10th. the history department at UCA, might be another good resource, since most of the counties are in the catchment area for UCA.
