Is it possible that he was one of the men from the 33rd that became part of Crawford's Battalion or the 24th Arkansas? According to the Alexander papers/Hindman's Telegraphs the 33rd at first recruited 11 companies. Reorganizaton orders of August 1862 were for each regiment to have 10 companies of 75 men each. Most of the extras and sick at Camp White Sulphur Springs became part of the 24th and Crawford's Battalion.
