Texas Rangers who fought at Pea Ridge.

On May 12, 1858, a combined force of Tonkawa Indians (as far as I know, the only tribe of cannibals in the continental US) and 102 Texas Rangers under RIP Ford defeated a major Comanche force at the battle of Antelope Hills, (Or Little Robe Creek) in Texas, but located in what is now western Oklahoma. Among the Comanche dead was Iron Shirt, who had been repeatedly shot, but, because of a doublet of armor, (probably Mail, from some long dead conquistador, no doubt,) had survived more that 30 years of raids against the settlers. One of the Tonkawas, Jim Pockmark, was supposed to have shot Iron Shirt with a buffalo rifle. All this information was gleaned from internet sources.

Now for my question, there had to have been several of the Texas Rangers who were in this battle, who then joined up with Ben McCulloch's army, and then went on to fight at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, (Pea Ridge) In Arkansas. I just need the name of one of those rangers, one who fought at Antelope Hills, and who later fought and survived the Battle of Pea Ridge. More names and any background would help. I need this material for a book set in Arkansas as the Civil War ends. My writings are primarily about the Guerrilla warfare in the Ozarks. See my website at www.joewsmith.com Thanks, Joe W. Smith
