There appears to be no one with the surname Fread found in the roster of the 113th Illinois Infantry, the closest being Henry C. Friele

The 116th Illinois lost at Arkansas Post, Ark., January 10-11, 1863, 5 killed, 3 wounded as recorded their Regimental Casualty Analysis found at the American Civil War Research Database, Historical Data Systems. These records are not always accurate and could be missing some.

Enlisted on 8/22/1862 as a Private.
On 9/4/1862 he mustered into "C" Co. IL 126th Infantry
He died of disease on 5/6/1865 at St. Charles, AR
