I think the fact that a Lieutenant could aquire arkansas state seal buttons at the time that the 34th was operational says a lot about the industrial capability that existed inthe state. The short hand answer is that very little existed, and what did exist left the state with Van Dorn, but I think that the state managed to build up more of a production capability and Camden and a few other place than we generally see discussed. I would like to see a detailed discussion of the Confederate supply system in Arlansas.
