Hey Damon --

The 1st Battalion Arkansas Cavalry, which actually served as dismounted cavalry (infantry) from May 1862 through the surrender at Vicksburg, was reconstituted as a mounted cavalry battalion after being exchanged. As far as I can tell, it was not consolidated with any other unit, and retained its organization at least until the end of Price's Missouri Campaign in December 1864.

The only substantive record of the battalion I can find, relative to the post-Vicksburg period of the war, is the order of battle for Price's Army of Missouri, September-December 1864, which placed Stirman's battalion in Slemons' Cavalry Brigade of Fagan's Cavalry Division of Price's Cavalry Corps.

As of December 31, 1864, Stirman's battalion was in the 2nd Arkansas Cavalry Brigade, 1st Arkansas Cavalry Division, Trans-Mississippi Cavalry Corps.
