If you have access to the Arkansas CSR's, there is a page for McCarver that gives a breakdown of the forces under his command for March 31, 1862

Under the column for commands is a line for artillery that I can not make out, but it appears something like Riles or Biles artillery. This command would appear to be the 30 good men that he referred to in this message:

3/28/62 Pocahontas, Col McCarver cdg to Gen Van Dorn
...
As it was necessary to have some Arty here & it was impossible to get the btry you ordered to Jacksonport
I authorized an energetic young man formerly of the Washington Arty who came to Jacksonport w/25 good men to raise one Arty Co & to take command of 3 iron pieces I have here. He is drilling every day & has 30 good men ready for action at any moment.
I would suggest that the brass btry now at Jacksonport, that Capt Stockton turned over to an officer named Franklin be given to this officer as Franklin has been delayed on the road so long that he has forfeited all claims to it.
