He was 74 years of age, widowed and living at Carlisle, Arkansas in 1910. I can't find any more on him at this time. You are probably right he may have died before 1920 and is buried in the Carlisle area, maybe someone knows of his grave site. Everyone seems to know he was born in Tn, Feb 1, 1836, but no one knows when he died. There were some promient Alexander families in the Little Rock and Scott, Arkansas area. Scott is in Lonoke County. I don't know if these Alexander families are related to yours. I knew a George Alexander from Scott, he died a number of years back. Their old mansion in Little Rock, I believe is part of the Clinton Presidential Library complex. The old plantation home is at Scott, Arkansas.
