Calhoun Bear Hunters

The Little Rock "Arkansas New Democrat" on July 25, 1861, ran a poem "The Calhoun Bear Hunters" by G. Zelotes Adams, evidently talking about a new company being formed to face "ye Lincoln men." I thought it was probably a Calhoun County group, but I can't find any company with that nickname. Does anyone know if it was perhaps renamed something else? What would be its regular regiment and company designation?
