Do you have any information or mention of Moses Crittenden during the Mexican War period. Moses lived in Polk County (then Sevier County) and served in an Arkansas unit but I don't think they went to Mexico.

His only Civil War service I've found was a couple of months in the 13th Kansas Inf before deserting from Ft Smith. He and three other men were "recruited" from Dallas, Arkansas (aka Panther, near present Mena) into the 13th KS and all three deserted within a couple of months. At least two and perhaps all three were Cherokee.
