Need help: Henry Smalley, 12th Michigan

Hello. I have been asked to seek information on a Henry Smalley who served in Co. G, 12th Regiment Michigan Infantry.
He was at DeVall's Bluff and died there of typhoid fever in April of 1865 having served less than two months prior
to his death.
What exactly did the 12th Michigan do at DeValls Bluff anyway?
Can anyone tell me where the bodies of those Union soldiers were moved to after the war? Could he possibly have
gone to Helena or Memphis? His gg granddaughter has not found him in Little Rock, so where would he be?
Could he be one of those Union Unknown at the National Cemetery in Little Rock?
Feel free to tell us any information that you may know and please do not assume we know anything.
Thanks so much for any help you may be able to provide.
