The information I have is from a copy of his pension application submitted in Alabama in 1899 from Florence Alabama. I requested his record from the National Archives but they didn't have anything.

Maybe he came to Arkansas looking for his brother and was picked up to serve since he had a short service period.

He was also active in the G.A.R. and I have a picture of him with a large display of his collection of Medals. As far as I know nobody in the family has any of them.

Asher died in 1926 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery Tuscumbia Alabama in the Bresler Plot. His memorial is posted on Find-a-Grave.
