Arkansas Burials, Augusta, Ga

In Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Ga., is a Confederate section with 236 interments, all but five of whom are identified by name. The graves are marked by small marble headstones, which give thename and (usually) the state fo service, but unless the orginal stones ahve been replaced by VA markers (a handful), no data is given on units or dates of death. The burials all appear to have been during the war or immediately at its end. It does not appear to have been used as a Veterans' Cemetery.

The following are burials of men who served from Arkansas:

A. L. Jones, Row 1, Grave 35
Wm. Cumming, Row 3, Grave 18
LT J. P. Bata, Row 3, Grave 23
J. W. Rowark, Row 4, Grave 4

This cemetery is under perpetual care and the Confederate section is meticulously maintained.
