I didn't realise Maddox, G.W. Co.K 3rd AR Inf., C.S.A. was a Civil War Vet. until I studied the 1930 census for Montgomery Co. AR. He is buried at Macedonia Cemetery, Montgomery County, Arkansas and has a headstone. Any comments about his headstone? Does not look like a C.S.A. uniform. What shield is it? What do the stars represent?
