the photographic evidence (like "Portraits of Conflict) seems to support that most/all were in uniform, I'm sure that the western soldier supplmented his uniform with civilain garb but I wonder what he looked like especially late 1863 to '64 with the loss of Vicksburg and access to the Atlanta depots. How extensive was uniform manufacture in Ark. La. and Texas? I know there was a shoe plant in Arkadephia but how were uniforms generally supplied in the TM?
