Bob, to clarify--Greenwood WAS the mustering officer. However, on the muster papers, he was listed as "colonel" by mistake. The compilers of the compiled service records thus indexed him as colonel.

BTW, Greenwood had a very colorful postwar career, as a mine operator in Mexico, and railroad promoter in Cuba.
