My Grt grandfather James M. Bellamy joined the Co. A fourth Battalion Ark Inf. Batt. in Little Rock, Ar. His enlistment was from 22Sept 1861 to 7 Sept 1863. He was from Lonoke, Ar. and was born in Georgia.
Would he have fought at Pea Ridge?
I have two reports that he was wounded and was in the Jackson, Ms. hospital in March of 1863...doesn't sound right to me.. and another report that he was in the Nasville or Memphis hospitals, which is more likely since he was probably at Island 10.
Can anyone verify or help me?
