Well we contacted them and even though they have not had a curator for 15 years, and the fact they are interested in art and furniture and do not have plans for display or conservation, they have no desire to deaccession to another facility at this time. Would have been great to bring this one home as well. We have the funds necessary to preserve it and display it, but as with many of those "captured" flags in obscure entities, they won't let them go and would rather they lay in obscurity or ruin even. Sure is a shame. At least some like Iowa and others I am sure are trying to do something with their collections. Perhaps they should use some stimulus money to fix them all up.
