A casualty report for both Iuka and Corinth for the 3rd Louisiana appears
in the Baton Rouge Gazette & Comet of Oct. 29, 1862.
Lieut. Babin was captured at Iuka with the Colors of the Regiment in his hand.
Robert Patterson of Co. K also carried the Colors that day. He was neither wounded
or captured.
The flag has since been returned to Louisiana and resides in a private collection.
Can anyone supply further info on the Color Guard of the 3rd?
