no big rush on this, but I have been thinking if we can get some good data re who might be buried in the CSA mass burial trench at Shady Grove Cemetery ~2 (?) miles from the Iuka battlefield, we can perhaps get some sort of grave marker(s) for those men we can identify?
If you have any data on the 14th Arkansas as well as the 17th Arkansas, that would be great!!!!!
Hebert's brigade casualties at Iuka were listed by him in his afterbattle report thusly:
Command.........K.......W.......M.......engaged
40th Ms. Rgt....10......39......21......314
17th Ar. Rgt.....2......12.......3......109
3rd Tex Cav.....22......74.......0......388
14th Ar. Rgt.....2......15.......1......116
1st Tx.Legion...18......80.......1......460
3rd La. Inf......9......81......15......264
St. Louis bat....0.......1.......0.......52
Clark Batt.......0.......3.......0.......71
Total...........63.....305......40....1,774
Hope to enlist some help re the Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas units as well.....???
Would be nice to someday put some sort of marker(s) up near the mass burial trench giving name, unit, etc. information....
thanks Bryan!!

Ken
