I am looking for information on Charles Gordon Newman. He served close to Gen. Fagan. He appears on a roster of the 1st/10th AR Cav (Crawfords) as Assistant Adjutant-General on a roster dated Jan. 1-29, 1864. He was "assigned to duty with this command by Gen. Fagan, served until Jan. 6, 1864" He was ordered back to Gen. Fagan by Co. Kilgore (commanding the regiment 2/64) I am trying to find where he was before and after. It looks as if he may have been a Lt. with the 17th Ar Inf. (Griffith's) before. (?)
