3rd Confederate Regt. (Arkansas) & Miss. Companies

On March 20, 2009, John C. O'Brien III posted the following comment on the Mississippi CW Message Board:
"I think the 3rd Confederate inf. [Arkansas] and the 22nd Miss had Irish companies from Mississippi. I have a presentation for My SCV camp In Florida on tuesday, and it is on the Irish Confederates..."

Would like to know if someone can please provide any information on these two companies from Mississippi that were part of the 3rd Confederate Infantry Regiment with source(s).

Where were the men in two companies from in Mississippi?

Where, when and by whom were they raised and organized?

What were their company designations in 3rd Confederate?

How did they end up with the other regiments from Arkansas as part of the Third Confederate?

Does anyone have evidence showing that either Mississippi company was predominantly Irish?

Thanks.
