This is probably not your man, but thought I would post it. This was an AR paper.

Mr. W.M. Loudermilk, Confederate War Vet, 100 Years Old.

Mr. Loudermilk is probably the most active of the four survivors of the War Between the States. He still does a bit of gardning and takes care of his chickens. He also owns an automobile. 'My eyes are not what they used to be, though', he admitts. 'I may get rid of my chickens and quit gardening.' When Mr. Loudermilk visited the offices of the Sun this morning and the picture was suggested, he agreed readily and proposed that we walk up to the hospital. It is just a few blocks; you would never guess he is 100 years old to see him get around town.
