I have family that served with the 5th and 13th Arkansas Infantry, among others, and know that they were captured at Jonesboro, GA as a part of Govan's Brigade in Patrick Cleburne's Division. What happens to captured regimental colors after being captured? The reason I am asking is that I'd like to work on the return of this particular flag, and others, to it's home in Arkansas.

I'm new to this message board and serious research in Civil War history so be gentle with me. I live in Knoxville, a couple of hours away from Chickamauga/Chattanooga and will be willing to do research for you in this area. I have extensive research experience in related fields.
