Doyle, that is so true. I've run across names so unique that you'd think only one man in history would be named something like that -- and darned if it doesn't turn out that two men from the same State have the same name. That's one reason why I instituted a pretty strict documentation policy in my database -- past assumptions have often gotten me all messed up.
By the way, my favorite Civil War name belonged to a captain in the 4th Texas Infantry -- Decimus et Ultimus Barziza. He was the youngest of 12 children in the Barziza family. His father named him (in Latin) "Twelfth and Last." Now there's a man with a sense of humor (or desperate hope).
