Michael:
You asked: >>>What is the "12th Louisiana Infantry" below your name about?<<<
It is a link to my website featuring the 12th Louisiana Infantry in which one of my great grandfathers served. I am a Louisiana native and graduate of LSU - Class of 1965.
I know little about Colonel Scott's 1st Louisiana Cavalry regiment. Dr. Art Bergeron presented a short sketch of the history of this regiment and included a list of sources in his "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units, 1861-1865" (LSU Press, 1989, pp.39-41). Art is currently an historian at the U. S. Military History Institute at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. They have a website and you can contact him there relative to what else he may know about Colonel Scott. You might also post a query on the Louisiana in the Civil War Message Board. Art monitors a number of these message boards.
Don't be confused about my role with the Fort Delaware Society. I am part of the Confederate Diaspora!! The Internet makes this a small world indeed! A substantial number of Arkansans were "guests of the government" at Fort Delaware during the War.
Merry Christmas!!
