I came across the Sturkie family when I was researching Daniel Self of Edgefield County, SC (died 1836). I believe his daughter married a Sturkie, but I cannot recall her name or his name. My family files are stored away on a flash drive and I am in the process of moving so I cannot access the records now. Daniel had a son named Daniel Presley Self and a daughter named Dicy who married Levi Fulmer. Dicy and Levi had two sons - Ezra Ansel and Daniel Presley, the latter being my great-great grandfather. My father was named Daniel Presley and we have brought the Presley name forward every generation since, the latest being my granddaughter Presley and my grand-niece Reese Presley. They are the only two females in the family with that name. So, I wondered if Daniel P. Sturkie had the middle name Presley. I also know the name continued in the Self family.
