This incident is corroborated in the Journal by G.M. Jordan, which can be found at http://digital.archives.alabama.gov/cdm/compoundobject/collection/voices/id/3992. Jordan tried to help her, even gave her name, I think it was Hunt. It is in the first section, just a few pages down. He doesn't mention her trying to seek revenge-I wonder if that was made up. He gave her company as Captain Harper's Company, Colonel Clatoon's Regiment. That journal is very interesting and undoubtedly my great great grandfather served with Jordan and spent time with him in Knoxville (not Nashville as the publication states). Since I went to school at the University of Tennessee at "the Hill", where they were stationed, I walked on the same grounds as my gg grandfather McDaniel so many years ago, come to find out, and never knew it.
