I'd appreciate the opinion of some folks on this one. I may have found evidence that Private Harris was indeed a Black Confederate. On this record, above left corner, above the word "orderly," is an abbreviation similar to what I've seen in a number of the records of others. In some records the word "colored" is written out. "Colored Musician," "Colored Cook," or maybe "Colored Servant." At Appomattox the Federals write "Colored Troops" on the paroles some were given. On others there's abbreviations that looks like, "Colr'd, Color'd, Col'd, or maybe "Col'ed."

Is this what any of you folks see or am I reading, "Colonel's Orderly," or maybe, "Company Orderly ?"
