William T. Walthall, appointed Major, A. G. Department to report to Camp of Instruction No. 2, Alabama, July 12, 1862, assigned Commanding Post, Camp of Instruction, Talladega, Ala., assumed additional duties as Commandant of Conscripts for the State of Alabama June 25, 1863, and later added the duties of Post Commander at Talladega, Ala., assigned December 21, 1864 to Johnson’s Division, Army of Tenn.

Note, his file consists of some 113 cards and later assignments somewhat confusing
