Thank you, Mr. Sterling & Mr. Martin, for posting on this thread. I have worked for years on this item (& others of course), long before the internet, and am still working thereon. I have traveled to archives and libraries across the country and have pretty much the entire story on the "Confederate Treasury/Wagon-Train/Jeff Davis Attempted Escape/Etc." However, your two items presented a few additional facts I didn't have, and I thank you. If I live long enough (an iffy proposition given my age and health), I will have a rather large chapter in my book concerning this topic.
