O. C. Taylor, Co. I, 14th Alabama Volunteers

In researching the individual soldier service records, I have found the following about Private O. C. Taylor, Company I, 14th Alabama Infantry Regiment.

On company muster rolls for October 1864 he is reported "shot by sentence of court martial on September 22, 1864". (Confederate Service Records, M311 Roll 238, entry 1505)

I have not been able to find any explanation for why he was court martialed and executed.

I would appreciate any assistance with determining the reason he was executed.

Any additional information about the man, beyond what is in his service record would also be appreciated.
