Re: CIVIL WAR--ALA. 6th. Cavalary

Rick

Thanks a million, we a saw Post sometime back, but could not re-connect to the {geocities} site, it was gone!
We have been doing a little reasearch on "His HINTON Family".
What we have put together, and came accross in that link, plus other intel showed that his Father(born-joco,nc-1790)-was a grandson of the Col. john hinton's,of JOCO(Raliegh, NC--Rev. War) of which Son, was not determined.
Another Story was that... he had been "Shot in the head @ Battle of Peachtree Creek", appearantly knocked him off his horse, was Bleeding, when northen troops checked him, thinking him Dead, passed him by! (no official intel was found on that injury), appears to be true!
What a "HEAD ACHE" when he woke up ouch.

Thanks again and GOD BLESS

His family- Hinton, Montgomery,Baily, Clements and Foster.
Raliegh>Charlotte>Augusta, and (wilkes county areas), Extended Families traveled toAlabama, and appear around [1820, or before], s.e. of downtown Tuscaloosa.
