Re: 22nd Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company F

Eileen,
Several of my ancestors served in Co. F 22nd Alabama Infantry, including one of my great grandfathers: 1st Lt. Samuel W. Harlan. Over the years, I have done quite a bit of research about that unit but none has been recent because I've been working on other research lately.

John Robert Boyd that you asked about died in service, young and unmarried. About ten years ago I completed the research and application materials for two ladies to join the United Daughters of the Confederacy on the service of John Robert Boyd. He was their uncle-- not great uncle or great-great uncle, but he was their uncle. Both of these ladies are now in their 90's and are delightful. If you will email me privately, I will tell you how to contact them if you are interested in discussing their Boyd family with them.
