Thanks for sharing that. There is also an article and a photograph of him in The Confederate Veteran magazine. Don't have the citation here at home. We have a small "strange but true" exhibit at the ADAH. I have included a photograph of him and a Minie bullet taken from an Alabama veteran's eye many years after he was wounded (20th Century). It seems he suffered the identical wound. Believe it or not! Also another interesting note is that near the end of the war "Beauregard shutters" were manufactured at Selma for use by sharpshotters. They were used with "good effect" at Spanish Fort. I have no idea what they looked like and have found no reference to their use elsewhere.
