Jim,

So far as I can find, there were only three
companies in the 18th Bn; if true, that
would preclude a Co D; as I understand it,
the 18th was attached to the 33d Inf Rgt
in early 1863; Sifakis states there were
three companies and Brewer states five
with most of the men being from Jackson
County; in Apr 1865 the 33d was consolidated
with the 1st, 16th and 45th, losing it's
identity and becoming a part of the 1st; if
you're looking for anyone in particular, I
have list of those paroled in May 1865 at
Greensboro.
