Arthur W. Bergeron, Jr.Alabama Troops in LAThu Oct 26 09:52:15 2000 As you probably know, several Alabama units were assigned to the Port Hudson garrison, but I don't recall having read that any of them were ever in St. Tammany. Perhaps some of the Alabama units that participated in Breckinridge's campaign against Baton Rouge moved briefly through the parish in August 1862. The only other possibility that occurs to me is that men of the 15th Confederate Cavalry (largely an Alabama unit) operated in the parish late in the war.Albama Troops in LA Patricia Argo Williams, Thu Oct 26 20:16 No Record of Calhoun Sharpshooters in LA Jim Martin, Sun Oct 29 12:59 Alabama troops in La.
