Could you tell me if the 5th Calhoun Sharpshooters were in LA. I have been told by older family members that my GGgrandfather Simeon Argo died from Yellow fever in LA. I can not find anything that states that the 5th was ever in LA.
I have a copy of his Confederate Military Record and it states that he died in camp of disease on May 17, 1862.
