Another board contributor encouraged me to offer Alabama service record copy services, and I can do that on a limited set fee basis. My library has the Alabama serice records, Alabama pension applications and other reference sources. They also have a digital copier which I suspect isn't exactly as good as what they have in Washington, but it's close. Of course the main obsticle to be overcome is the time element, and I'd like to have service records returned to the requesting party within a week of receipt. I'm also prone to offering comments about what the records tell us and suggesting how they might be interpreted. If you've not seen a service record that may not sound like much, but often you will see documents whose purpose isn't clear or words that don;t make sense. I can usually provide some explanation as to what they mean.

I'm out of town for a few days, but should be able to help if what I can do is of interest. You might respond with what you know about the other people on your list; somebody may have that information for you!
