I thought you might be interested to know that as I'm researching full and mixed-blood Native-Americans in Alabama units. I am finding a number of them listed in Barlow's Company (Cav.) which I understand later became Company "C" of the 15th Confederate Cavalry.

Some of the surnames, so far, are:

Boon
Colbert
Hinson
Hollinger
Maniac (misspell of "Moniac")
Moniac
Sizemore
Stiggens

and I'm sure others. I'll keep looking.
