Indians In Civil War

Are you considering only full blood Indians, or those MANY that were of part blood. Alabama, as well as other Southern states had many soldiers of Indian descent, due to intermarriage and years of living with/among the Southern tribes prior their forced removal. I don't know if the Creek tribe at Poarch contributed any soldiers or not. I am quite proud of my Indian heritage also, especially so of 3 of my Great Uncles whom served in the 1st Florida and 15th Alabama Cavalry. I am certain their Indian heritage was very evident in their physical features, as all my Uncles and Father were quite brown/dark. My Great Uncles of the Civil War era were Grandsons of a full blood Creek woman, my Grandfather (brother to the Civil War Great Uncles) and the youngest of the lot, exhibited his Indian heritage quite visibly. I have often pondered/wondered if there was any prejudice towards these mixed bloods in the ranks. I make no distinction!
