Company “K” of Butler County “Butler True Blues”
Arriving at Montgomery, Alabama, September 7, 1861, this company was accepted in Confederate service two days later.
Captain Thomas Jefferson Burnett. Appointed Major May 1, 1862, to rank from April 25, 1862. Failed examination, still commissioned June 16, 1862, but not assigned to command until later that year. Wounded on Lickskillet Road near Atlanta, Georgia, July 28, 1864. Paroled at Montgomery, Alabama, June 2, 1865. [See Owens, DAB, vol. 3, p. 263 for a biography.]
