K.W. Easley (my notes show that Kitrill or Kilrill may be his first name). Enlisted 4/7/62 in Choctaw County by Capt. H.S. Smith, Jr. Muster roll to 6/62 shows him present; 7/62-8/62 shows him present at rank of 1st Corporal; 11/62-12/62 show him absent, wounded in action 12/31/62 (that would be the first day of the Battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee); 1/64-2/64 records that Easley died of wounds 1/4/63. Medical records or Union capture records (notes not clear which) show that he was captured at Murfreesboro and died of wounds (V.S. - gun shot wound) on 1/8/63, which is likely a more accurate date than that on the muster roll card. A 1/10/63 list of wounded shows him as having been wounded "dangerously" on 12/31/62.

I had a great-great grandfather in Company A who was wounded the same day, but survived, though he never returned to duty. Hope this information is helpful.
