An indirect ancestor, Nathaniel Macon McKellar, is doucmented as "Ambulance Driver". How were these assignments made? Good with mules?...Knows some first aid?...Otherwise unfit for combat? Incidently, he was "killed by gunshot" at Ringold Gap.
