Does anyone have knowledge ref to the oil
paintings that were removed from the Governor's
residence during the James administration?
I viewed them while still hanging some years
ago and they included some our war years
Statesmen and Generals; one in particular,
that of Genl Nathan Forrest; the last I had
was an eye witness report that they were in
the basement of one of the Govt buildings in
Montgomery, some stacked on a table, others
in the floor; as I understand it, the paintings
were offensive to the Governor's wife and
consequently were taken down and replaced by
whatever; were they later placed in ADAH?

Thanks,

Homer
