Did Fob even live in the Mansion?

I do remember the flap about Mrs. James and the decor in the Mansion, and somethings being moved/removed while Fob was in office. But at the same time I think I remember that Fob and his wife didn't reside at the Mansion, living somewhere else in Montgomery (at taxpayer expense I believe).

As for what was moved/removed I do not know what ever came of it.
