Ensign Sgt. B.F.C. Russell, Company C, 47 AL, was slightly wounded at Gettysburg (Montgomery Mail, 26 July 1863)

W.A. Castleberry, 13 AL, claims to have been color bearer at Gettysburg and Chancellorsville (Confederate Veteran, vol. 19, p. 338). Three color bearers from the 13 AL were shot down on July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg and the flag was captured (Official Report)
