On February 14, 1865, immediately after the fight at Aiken, Hannon's Brigade (53rd Alabama, 24th Alabama Batt'n, and 11th Georgia Cav) were sent from Burke Co., GA (where they were assigned under Iverson)to Graniteville to guard the textile mill, where they remained until at least late March. This conflicts with the 1/2/65 order disbanding Hannon's Brigade and placing them under Hagan. As you know, the 3rd was in Hagan's Brigade. I'm looking for period account (letters, correspondence, etc.) to dispute the erroneous information that Hannon's commmand was assigned under Hagan after 1/2/65. Thanks.
